Q: Tell us a little about your profession & why you do what you do:

A: Tonya: I co-founded The Flow Co Yoga and Wellness with the intention of inspiring others to care for themselves deeply and intentionally. I believe that when we nurture our own mind, body, and spirit, we create the capacity to show up fully for the people and communities we love. As a mom, wife, daughter, and friend, this belief guides the way I live and lead every day.

A: Majesta: I’m a yoga educator, movement coach, and wellness advocate with over 12 years of teaching experience. Throughout my career, I’ve been driven by one mission: to help people feel at home in their bodies and empowered in their lives. Teaching yoga for more than a decade has shown me how transformative mindful movement, breath, and community can be. I’ve witnessed people find confidence, strength, and clarity-and that’s what keeps me doing this work. Co-founding The Flow Co is my way of creating a space where movement & genuine human connection come together. I love guiding students through practices that challenge and support them, while breaking down barriers to what’s possible.

Q: When not at work, where can we mostly find you?

A: Tonya: When I am not at the studio it’s mom-life, I am usually with my 9 year old daughter and my husband. We love to check out local festivals and events.

A: Majesta:  If I’m not at The Flow Co, I’m probably on a long walk, sipping a coffee somewhere local, adventuring somewhere new with my pup, or dreaming

Q: Where is your favorite place to dine in Charleston?

A: Tonya: I am not a big foodie (I know crazy, right?) but I love a good cup of coffee and treat.

A: Majesta: I’m a sucker for cozy local spots with fresh bites and a good cocktail, give me good lighting, good flavors, and good company, and I’m in my happy place. Charleston makes it way too easy to be a foodie, I can’t choose just one place!

Q: If you could lounge anywhere in the world, where would it be?

A: Tonya: Take me to any beach, but I also love a mountain view. I love going home back to upstate NY, where I grew up- it’s quiet and beautiful and still has a few spots without cell phone reception.

A: Majesta: If I could lounge anywhere in the world, it would be Glacier National Park, in a cozy cabin with my pup. There’s something about those mountains that feels like home and the stillness that feels both breathtaking and deeply nostalgic. I was born in Montana and spent a lot of time there as a kid, what a gift!

Q: What does comfort mean to you?

A: Tonya:  It’s knowing that everyone I love is safe and healthy. Then I can truly relax and find comfort with myself.

A: Majesta: Comfort, to me, means feeling safe enough to soften. It’s the moments where my body can breathe, my mind can settle, and I feel supported, whether by people, space, or simply my own presence. (I worked really hard to feel comfy in my own skin)

Q: What might you say to someone who needs a little pick-me-up?

A: Tonya: When I feel stuck, I run through my list of things I am grateful for, even when things are hard, there is always something to be grateful for.

A: Majesta: Have you done yoga today? Haha, KIDDING- You’re doing better than you think. Sometimes the hardest part is just showing up for yourself, and you’re already doing that and that takes courage!

Q: If you didn’t have to sleep, what would you do with the extra time?

A: Tonya: I would do yoga every day, my house would always be clean, and I would rescue more dogs.

A: Majesta: I’d use the extra time to travel more- slow, intentional travel that lets me connect with different cultures

Q: What makes you feel most empowered?

A: Tonya: I feel most empowered when I empower others.

A: Majesta: Teaching, creating, and helping others feel powerful in their own skin.

Q: How do you recharge?

A: Tonya: I recharge every time I take time to take care of myself- either taking a yoga class, going for a run or time at the beach.

A: Majesta: I recharge with a little solo time to ground… and by pretending my to-do list doesn’t exist for a minute.

Q: What is the first thing you do when you get home from work?

A: Tonya:  I put on my pajamas, it instantly relaxes me.

A: Majesta: Honestly? I immediately find my cozy clothes and raid the fridge like I’ve never eaten before.

Q: What makes you most uncomfortable?

A: Tonya:  I don’t like going to events where I don’t know anyone, I get over it quickly.

A: Majesta: I’m most uncomfortable in places where I can’t show up fully as myself or simply a large crowd!

Q: What’s one thing you would change about yourself?

A: Tonya:  I would be less of a planner, I like to over plan and know the plan and sometimes that can get in the way of just enjoying the moment.

A: Majesta: I’d be a little less hard on myself. I’m always working on giving myself the same grace give others.

Q: What’s your favorite recipe we need to know about?

A: Tonya: I do not like to cook or bake, so anything that is 3 ingredients or less. I will always bring the rolls.

A: Majesta: Food wise, I keep it simple- however my current recipe for self- care? Walks outside, Infrared Sauna & yoga or movement daily!

Q: What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?

A: Tonya: This moment is just preparing you for what’s next.

A: Majesta: To show up fully as myself and stop shrinking to fit spaces that were never meant for me.

Q: What is one thing you cannot live without?

A: Tonya: It’s simple- coffee and chapstick.

A: Majesta: I’m extremely adaptable, but right now, the ability to move my body & breath mixed with a daily dose of red light therapy!

Q: What is your favorite thing to sleep in?

A: Tonya: Super soft leggings and an oversized sweatshirt.

A: Majesta: I am always warm, so I enjoy sleeping in light, breathable shorts and a tank or bralette. Cozy yet breathable is my vibe!

Q: What is your bucket list trip and why?

A: Tonya: I would backpack around Europe, find all the best coffee shops, and stay in luxurious hotels in every major city.

A: Majesta: I have the travel bug lately, My bucket list trip is a long, slow journey through Europe-mountains, coastlines, tiny cafes, and all the moments that let you breathe, wander, and feel inspired again.

Q: What kind of driver are you?

A: Tonya: impatient but cautious.

A: Majesta: I am an aggressive driver but will always make room for you to merge on in ( Thanks to living in Boston and growing up in the midwest :) )

Q: What do you need to rant about or get off your chest?

A: Tonya: The lack of research and resources for Women’s Health Care.

A: Majesta: Keeping politics and current world events out of it; That people need to stop wearing “busy” like a badge of honor. Slowing down is a strength too, you deserve the grace you give others.

Q: What’s your secret weapon?

A: Tonya: I am incredibly passionate about breaking generational cycles with my daughter and holding space for someone, when they need it. We all have stuff and we all need community.

A: Majesta: My secret weapon is how deeply I care about people, community, and creating spaces that feel safe- oh and a great playlist mixed with my ability to pivot quickly and think on my feet!
